Europe > Germany

Germany is a culture-rich land of fairy-tale sights. I'd like to note that in 2006 Germany will host the Soccer World Cup. In addition it is the 250 year celebration of Amadeus Mozart's birth and there are plans underway for concerts and events. If you're interested and think you would like to visit at that time contact us at Away We Go Travel to make your arrangements.

Rhine River
A cruise down or up the Rhine River is legendary with its stunning scenery, charming hamlets, delicate and imposing castles. The cruise ships are small in size compared to many today, but I believe they add a nice quaintness to your trip.

Munich
Munich is the land of Alpine terrain, oom-pah bands, beer halls and mountain skiing. It's famous for the Oktoberfest celebrations. Munich also serves as a good hub for traveling to see the sites in the surrounding areas. One of the most famous is Fussen. Fussen is where the spectacular castles built by King Ludwig II are located. Neuschwanstein, claims to be the castle that inspired the one in Disneyland. Another good day trip is to Garmisch-Patenkirchen. This was the site of the 1936 Winter Olympics. In the spring and summer you can ride the ski lift to the top and walk down part of the way thru an adventurous trail to the bottom, well worth the trek.
