Japan, China,
Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, Nepal and India are
all part of this area. They say a journey to any of these areas you
can experience close up ancient and exotic cultures.
China
China
is the Worlds third largest country. It is slightly bigger than the
United States including Alaska and Hawaii. One quarter of all the
people in the World live here. Only in recent years China has been
open to tourists.

When going an escorted tour is a "must". Tourists can't
rent cars, but you can book a driver with a car. This needs advanced
reservations but can be surprisingly reasonable. There is so much
to see and do here, I'm only able to touch on a very few. China spans
six time zones; however it only uses one through out the country.
One of the most popular tours today is the Yangtze River Cruise. The
Yangtze River is the 3rd largest river in the World. The construction
of the Three Gorged Dam on the Yangtze is nearing completion. When
completed this spectacular area will see dramatic changes and many
historical sites will be lost forever. If this is a place you want
to visit don't wait "NOW" is the time to book a tour. The
perfect tour for this area includes the Yangtze Cruise, Xian, and
Beijing. When you visit Xian you will see some 8000 ancient terra
Cotta soldiers and horses each unique and finely detailed. Beijing
is where you can visit the "Great Wall" built entirely by
hand. They say it's more spectacular than you can imagine. From end
to end it's more than 2800 miles long. Look for future information
regarding the Great Wall as it's a "must do" soon on my
vacation list. While in Beijing a visit to the Imperial Palace once
known as the Forbidden City will keep you very busy. This walled complex
covers 250 acres and encloses 800 structures, each more dramatic than
the last.

Japan
Japan
is about the size of the State of Montana, consisting of a series of
small islands. Tokyo is Japan's center for commerce and education. Japan
has no shortage of beautiful temples and shrines. Just a reminder, that
shoes should be removed before entering temples, rooms, and homes with
straw mats. The Japanese people are very formal, handshaking is permissible,
and bowing is still the custom. Japan is "extremely expensive"
especially when buying food. Tipping is considered inappropriate except
if a driver helps with your baggage. There is so much to see here we
recommend a tour, even if it's just for a day or two. Many Japanese
speak English, and Japan is an extremely safe place to visit.

Thailand
and Singapore
Singapore
is considered today to be the most modern city in the Far East. If
you're looking for something different this next vacation, how about
a first hand adventure in Asian Culinary Arts? We can arrange a trip
to the Academy at-sunrice it is a culinary center where cooking classes
are conducted by some of the region's most experienced Chefs. We recommend
you combine your visit with a trip to Thailand. Both of these areas
offer you a rich mix of cultures, superb scenery, temples, and many
ancient monuments.
The
Philippines
The
Philippines offer you many historical attractions, scenic sites and
lovely beach resorts. Pagsanjan Falls is just a two hour drive from
Manila; it inspires visitors with its Canyons, Rapids, and Rock formations.
The drive there will take you past many coconut, sugar, and pineapple
plantations. The best way to visit the Philippines is to book an escorted
tour. Many tours today will take you around several different islands
in the area. We always recommend booking luxury hotels in this area,
there usually a bargain!

Taiwan
Taiwan is a glorious island; it is only 240- by 85 miles in size.
It is located off the southeast coast of China, and slightly northeast
of Hong Kong. Most tourists visit the northern area where Taipei is
located. Taipei they say is a great place for bargain shoppers. When
you visit, a must see is the National Palace Museum. The museum has
over 600,000 pieces of Chinese Art, most of which were brought from
Beijing's Forbidden City. When you visit, include a trip to Yehliu
National Park and Yangmingshan National Park. They are both very scenic
but known for there Cherry and Azalea Trees.
India
India
is the seventh largest country in the world it is also the second
most populated nation. Important places to visit are Agra, home of
the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is considered by many to be the World's
most beautiful building. This exquisite memorial is most impressive
to view in the moonlight. Madra on the southeast coast is home to
Fort St. George the first British settlement. Surrounding the outside
of the town is a number of ancient temples. Try and include a visit
to Elephanta Island. This is home to the Sixth-Century cave temples
carved into rock.
Nepal
Nepal
is best known for the stunning and prodigious Himalaya Mountain Range.
This is where the World's tallest peak lies
"Mt Everest". If you're an experienced mountain-climber
this maybe the perfect vacation for you. Always check with the Ministry
of Tourism first, because a special permit maybe required.
